When an entire office needs updated headshots, you want three things: consistency, efficiency, and photos that actually look like your team on their best day. Recently, I photographed headshots for an entire San Francisco office with one clear brief: a cohesive look with the beautiful blur of downtown buildings behind each person. Ten minutes per person, quick selects on the spot, and the option to retake—because “Nope, not that one” is a complete sentence.
San Francisco is famously photogenic (hi, FiDi windows and Embarcadero reflections). The company wanted a uniform background—subtle bokeh of office towers—so everyone looks like they belong to the same brand, not the same passport line. I set up a compact on-site portrait station near a window with great light, added professional lighting for consistency, and used a longer focal length to create that soft city blur while keeping faces crisp and flattering.
