Smiling is my favorite - Nailing your headshot smile every time

In a world where every click captures a moment, a genuine smile can make all the difference in a photograph. Yet, for many, the thought of posing for a picture can bring about awkward, forced smiles that just don't feel like the real you.

With a little guidance and a sprinkle of charm, you too can flash a natural smile that radiates warmth and sincerity. Please, drop the cheese.

Saying "Cheese" forces your cheeks into a broad, tightening of your facial muscles, nearly showing every tooth in your mouth. Really, no one wants to have that look. It's not even cute when your kids say it.

The new words create a relaxed, more natural smile when posing. And, if you're in a big crowd, it can be fun to tell everyone to say one of these words, too.

HEY

YOGA

MONEY

Change the words, and you'll change your smile. It's as easy as that.

When you use those words, do notice that your mouth ends with a slight separation between your top and bottom teeth. You can keep it that way, or gently close your mouth if you're feeling shy about your teeth.

Try this posing tip for your next photo session and let me know in the comments how that works for you.
